Problem Addressed
Environment, General Pollution, Deforestation, and Lack of Hygiene.
Bangladesh embraces a new era of governance in which there is much emphasis on environmental concerns. As has been mentioned, the new administration will have a golden chance to make sweeping changes that should be for the better of the environment and the future of the nation. To achieve this, the government must prioritize several key areas: in the form of energy shift to green energy, improvement of forestry cover, reduction of emissions, and embracing efficient city development strategies.
Prominent among the subsets of environmental sciences is a shift from conventional, or non-renewable energy sources. The large utility of fossil energy in Bangladesh puts the country in a vulnerable position in terms of environmental impacts such as increased carbon footprint and smog. To this effect, the government should move quickly to begin replacing fossil fuels with renewables such as solar, wind and hydroelectric power. Promoting green energy technologies at the business end and the consumer end can help in making these technologies affordable and worthy to be adopted. By consuming renewable energy, Bangladesh could also lessen the carbon emission rate and at the same time could help to support local invention and economic growth in the green energy sector.
He also acknowledged the role of afforestation as well as the protection of biodiversity as a measure towards the balance of the ecology. The government should conduct mass tree planting initiatives to check on cases of deforestation and put back the lost habitats. These areas must be defended since the nation’s varied ecosystems and the overall state of the natural world will only benefit from it over time. Further, the department that focuses on the promotion of environmentally friendly methods in farming and the use of capital to enhance environmentally friendly urban development will aid in the conservation of the environment as it assists in realizing growth. Designing green elements in the inner city can improve people’s quality of life and general health.
In this case, another factor that is almost as important as the protection of the environment is the management of pollution. To tackle the issue of air and water pollution, the government has to set rigorous laws for the industries and automobiles. Another environmental measure is the proper disposal of resources and the adoption of policies that will help in promoting recycling, banning the use of plastic and use of proper waste management methods. Moreover, there is a need to expand WASH projects to be basic needs so that people acquire clean water and appropriate sanitation for improved health and the environment.
There is also a need to embrace innovation in the planning of cities in the future. The creation of an automated card-operating transit system shall ensure that people reduce the use of personal automobiles and therefore lessen the pollution of the urban space. Furthermore, the implementation of a car-free city policy in some areas can help to reduce traffic jams and improve the standard of living among city dwellers. Hence these measures will not only enhance the quality of air but also bring about a better and lively accommodating environment that enhances movement by walking.
